What if my apartment smells funny?
What if the time I've spent cleaning isn't enough?
What if there aren't enough chairs for people to sit on?
What if the creative new dessert I'm making is gross?
We read My Life in France, by Julia Child and in honor of Julia, I'm making a French cake. I'm not making it from scratch however. I bought Puff Pastry for the first time, and I'm hoping it comes through for me!
I'm not used to hosting activities, so this is a bit of a stretch for me. Not to mention I haven't finished the book. (I wasn't planning on hosting till yesterday, so I still have 100 pages to go!). I'm sure all will go well and it will be enjoyable, I just don't want book club to be a let down.
I think Friday will be a nice quiet evening which I'm sure will be filled with a couple Cosby episodes and maybe a pizza.
Then Saturday we're having dinner and dessert with Mike and Cindy. I'm looking forward to it.
Our usual Sunday evening routine involves games with my parents and younger brother Kevin and Della, their German exchange student. This is a highlight of my week almost every time. We have so much fun laughing and spending time with my family. I love living close to them!

If the French Cake works out, you should make it again for Saturday Night!! :)
We're looking forward to socializing with you - miss you guys!
I bet it will all go very well. :)
I want to read that book too. Right now I'm trudging through Under the Tuscan Sun...truuuuuding.
Looking forward to Saturday night too. And I really think we need to make it to your parents house again for those Sunday fun times!
I've thought about being a part of a book club at times. The problem is that the one in our ward, at least the last time I heard anything about it, is kinda chaired by this really bossy (nice but bossy)and opinionated young woman. Being a rather bossy and opinionated person myself I kinda felt that there was probably only room there for one of us. I even think that out of like the three books they've read SHE picked each one.
However I am a huge fan of the Sunday night Family dinner! And dinner with M&C is always worthwhile!
So how did it all go ?? Wonderful, i'm sure.
Also, Donald and I watched Julie and Julia a few weeks back and I LOVED IT!!
Thanks for hosting book club for me at the last minute. It was so nice to know the night was in very capable hands.
